Howard Gotschall II, P.E., S.E.

Howard Gotschall II joined Hanson’s Springfield headquarters in 1999 as a structural engineer and moved to the company’s St. Louis metropolitan-area office in 2001. A vice president, he leads the management and business development efforts in St. Louis.

Howard primarily serves as Hanson’s bridge disciplines manager, overseeing the technical bridge staff in the infrastructure and railway markets. He has provided structural engineering and management services for numerous noteworthy roadway and railroad bridge design projects, including seismic design, from Florida to Alaska. He also has a broad range of structural experience, including building projects, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers flood protection projects and foundation designs for electrical transmission line river crossings.

A leader in his community and the engineering industry, Howard is a member of the 2019 Leadership Missouri class, sponsored by the Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry; the American Council of Engineering Companies of Missouri (ACEC-MO), where he serves on the transportation committee, government affairs committee and various client liaison committees; and a member of the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying, serving on the Structural Exam Committee. He is also a member of the Structural Engineers Association of Illinois and the Structural Engineers Association of Kansas and Missouri.
