Hanson founded our company in Springfield, Illinois, in 1954, he laid the foundation for a legacy of employee pride and ownership. As an employee-owned company since 1972, we know our growth and prosperity are linked to our clients’ success. Allowing our employees to share in that success is a way of investing in our future and the future of the communities we call home.
Giving back matters to us, and many of our employees are active in civic organizations and volunteer activities. Getting to know the people our projects affect brings us a perspective that elevates our work.
As seriously as we take our work, we all benefit from fellowship and good health. The staff across our nationwide offices regularly celebrate holidays and special occasions together, and our wellness program supports physical, emotional and financial health for all our employee-owners.
Diversity matters to us
Our leadership also believes in the power of a multifaceted workforce. As part of the Grow Our Own program, based at our Springfield headquarters, we partner with the city of Springfield and Sangamon County to educate and ultimately employ underrepresented youth in science, technology, engineering and mathematics careers. We also offer Springfield-area high school students the opportunity to explore engineering through our Shadow Hanson program.
