Project Summary
The Charlotte County Airport Board explored the viability of a private-sector airport developer and operator taking over the Punta Gorda Airport in Punta Gorda, Florida, on a long-term lease and concession. Hanson assisted Avports, an airport operations and management specialist supporting more than 30 U.S. airports, with its bid to be selected for the lease and concessionaire role.
Hanson helped Avports by preparing short-, medium- and long-range capital development costs and short-, medium- and long-range repair expense projections for a potential public-private partnership (P3) proposal.
Ultimately, the Charlotte County Airport Board shelved the project.
