DuPage National Technology Park Cyber Continuity Center (Illinois)

Project Summary

Hanson provided mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering services for the design of a new 60,000-square-foot, Tier III data center at a new technology park in DuPage County, Illinois.  Our team’s services included design, preparation of construction documents, permitting assistance, and construction support.

The building design is able to support up to 4.8 megawatts of critical load with an average power density of 133-watts-per-square-foot throughout the 36,000-square-foot raised computer floor.  Portions of the raised floor are divided into private and secure micro-data center suites.  The critical infrastructure is concurrently maintainable with redundant uninterruptible power supplies, redundant standby generators capable of supporting the facility, and redundant chillers, pumps and cooling towers providing chilled water through primary and alternate distribution piping paths.  Heat exchangers are included to provide water-side economizer for energy savings.

A Building Management System was designed to integrate, operate and monitor the various systems.

Hanson also assisted with zoned fire detection as well as alarm and suppression systems, including pre-action and clean-agent suppression.
