Cusick appointed to the Cool Cities Advisory Council

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Robert W. Cusick, P.E., S.E., executive vice president at Hanson Professional Services Inc., recently was appointed to the Cool Cities Advisory Council by the city of Springfield’s Mayor Tim Davlin.

The purpose of this nine-member council is to provide guidance and direction on various issues as relating to the Cool Cities initiative and the use of renewable energy. The council will study and develop a local climate action plan, reviewing a variety of initiatives aimed toward reducing carbon emissions and improving energy conservation. It also will study and work to develop a mechanism to monitor the progress being made toward these climatological goals.

Sierra Club's Cool Cities Program, led by volunteers around the country, is a collaboration among community members, organizations, businesses and local leaders to implement clean energy solutions that save money, create jobs and help curb global warming.
