Ostermann celebrates 25 years with Hanson

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Jim Ostermann, senior technician, recently celebrated 25 years of service at Hanson Professional Services Inc.’s Springfield, Ill., headquarters.

Ostermann joined the company in 1990 after working for more than 20 years in the engineering industry. In his role at Hanson, he conducts feasibility studies, prepares cost estimates and performs quantity calculations and construction observation. He has provided technical design services for runway rehabilitations, secondary road relocations and airport taxiways.

His work has included the widening and reconstruction of a 22-mile section of Interstate 90 (Jane Addams Memorial Tollway) in Illinois’ Boone, Kane and McHenry counties; a Tier 1 environmental impact statement (EIS) for the Illinois High-Speed Rail Chicago to St. Louis program; a Tier 2 EIS for the Chicago to Joliet High-Speed Rail project; a BNSF Railway Co. railroad replacement over Illinois Route 29 in Chillicothe, Ill., and road relocations at the Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport and Stanford Avenue in Springfield.

Ostermann is a member of the Illinois Bentley User Group and the Illinois Fire and Police Commissioners Association. He received associate degrees from Ranken Technical College in architectural design and structural technology in 1974 and supervisory and mid-management in 1990.
