Becker returns as Hanson’s librarian

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — April Becker, librarian and records specialist, recently returned to Hanson Professional Services Inc. Working at the Springfield, Ill., headquarters, she will be responsible for materials in Hanson’s corporate library and the branch libraries at the firm’s other offices. She will catalogue, classify, process and collect materials; provide file maintenance; and research references on technical, scientific, engineering and business subjects. She also will assist with the storage, protection and retention of corporate records.

Becker previously was a part-time librarian for Hanson from 2010 to 2012. Before rejoining Hanson, she was the library director for Sacred Heart-Griffin High School in Springfield, where her duties included assisting students and staff with database usage and technical questions, acquiring and cataloguing materials and creating and maintaining the library’s budget.

Becker received an associate degree from Lewis and Clark Community College, a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and a master’s degree in library and information science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
