DeJarld marks 25 years of service at Hanson

PEORIA, Ill. — Thomas DeJarld, P.E., S.E., recently celebrated 25 years of service at Hanson Professional Services Inc. He serves Hanson’s energy and industry market as a senior structural engineer in the company’s Peoria, Ill., office.

DeJarld joined Hanson in 1987 as a structural engineer, and he has been involved in a variety of structural design projects, including highway and railroad bridges, commercial and industrial structures, building renovations, tanks as well as water and wastewater facilities. He was named a partner at Hanson in 2006.

In 2010, DeJarld was named Civil Engineer of the Year by the American Society of Civil Engineers’ (ASCE) Central Illinois Section. This award recognized DeJarld’s contributions to engineering projects nationwide, involvement in professional development associations and volunteerism in the community.

He is a member of ASCE (past branch committee chairman), the American Institute of Steel Construction, and Building Officials Code Administrators. He also serves as an elected member of the city of Peoria’s Construction Commission.

DeJarld received his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1982. He is a licensed professional engineer in Illinois, Iowa and Wisconsin, and he is a licensed civil engineer in California.
