Opie celebrates 10 years at Hanson’s Kansas City office
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Scott Opie, P.E., an associate project manager at Hanson Professional Services Inc., recently celebrated 10 years at the firm’s Kansas City office.
Opie, who joined Hanson in 2011, provides services for railway projects, including project management; drainage, site and civil design; design and construction coordination with municipalities and state departments of transportation; the preparation of plans and specifications; and permitting. He has worked on projects including the project management and design of intermodal facilities for Union Pacific Railroad, BNSF Railway Co., Kansas City Southern and CSX Corp.
He received bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering in 1998 and 2007, respectively, from the University of Kansas and is a licensed professional engineer in Missouri, Kansas and Georgia. He is a member of the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association and the Society of American Military Engineers’ Greater Kansas City Post.
