Willey celebrates 20 years at Hanson’s headquarters
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Matt Willey, P.E., S.E., a structural engineer at Hanson Professional Services Inc., recently celebrated 20 years of service at the firm’s Springfield headquarters.
Willey, who joined Hanson in 2001, provides structural design for bridges. He has been involved with projects including underpasses for the Springfield Rail Improvements Project; the Tanana River Bridge in Salcha, Alaska, which is part of Alaska Railroad Corp.’s Northern Rail Extension between North Pole and Delta Junction; multiple bridges across the country for BNSF Railway Co.; and numerous bridge inspections for the Illinois Department of Transportation.
He received bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering in 2001 from Bradley University and in 2007 from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, respectively. He is a licensed professional engineer in Illinois, Kentucky and North Carolina, a licensed structural engineer in Illinois and a member of the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association and the Illinois Society of Professional Engineers.
