Corso joins Hanson as senior urban designer/planner

PEORIA, Ill. — Anthony Corso, AIA, AICP, LEED AP®, recently joined Hanson Professional Services Inc.’s Peoria office. He will serve as a senior urban designer/planner, working across the portfolio of Hanson’s projects.

Corso has been focused on the design of healthy, resilient and sustainable places for more than 15 years. Prior to joining Hanson, he was a planning and urban design consultant and served as the city of Peoria’s chief innovation officer, establishing and directing the city’s Innovation Team, or i-team, which helped city leaders drive innovation, increase capacity to take on big problems and deliver better outcomes for residents through work on community priorities such neighborhood revitalization, stormwater management and creating a smarter and more connected city.

Corso received a bachelor’s degree in biology and a master’s degree in architecture from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and is a registered architect in Illinois, certified by the American Institute of Certified Planners, a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and an accredited professional through the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design and through EcoDistricts. He is the recipient of the 2005 Henry Adams Medal from AIA and was named one of the 40 Leaders Under Forty by InterBusiness Issues in 2011.
