Thoele celebrates 10 years at Hanson
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Jared Thoele, P.E., S.E., a structural engineer at Hanson Professional Services Inc.’s Springfield headquarters, recently celebrated 10 years of service with the firm.
Thoele, who joined the company in 2011, provides structural engineering, construction observation and bridge inspections for roadway and railroad projects. His project work has included structural engineering for the Springfield Rail Improvements Project, Okeechobee Road and Palmetto Expressway interchange in Miami-Dade County in Florida, erection of a tied-arch bridge over the Illinois River at Meredosia, replacement of the Illinois Tollway’s Tri-State Tollway (Interstate 294) over Interstate 55 in the Chicago area and the replacement of the eastbound span of the McClugage Bridge in Peoria and Tazewell counties. He also has conducted bridge inspections across the state for the Illinois Department of Transportation and precast concrete plant audits nationwide as part of Hanson’s contract with the National Precast Concrete Association.
Thoele received a bachelor’s degree in physics in 2010 from Illinois College and bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering in 2010 and 2011, respectively, from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is a licensed professional engineer in Illinois, Florida and Washington, a licensed structural engineer in Illinois and Washington and a member of the American Council of Engineering Companies and Illinois Society of Professional Engineers’ (ISPE) Capital Chapter. In 2018, he was named the Young Engineer of the Year by ISPE at the chapter and state levels.
