Potts celebrates 15 years of service at Hanson

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Gary Potts, P.E., senior vice president and railway market principal at Hanson Professional Services Inc., recently celebrated 15 years of service with the company. He works at the firm’s Kansas City metropolitan office.

Potts previously worked for Hanson before rejoining the company in 2004. He has served as the principal on projects such as Alaska Railroad Corp.’s Port MacKenzie rail line extension in Matanuska-Susitna Borough, Alaska, and Northern Rail Extension between North Pole, Alaska, and Delta Junction, Alaska; BNSF Railway Co.’s intermodal facility expansion in Memphis, Tennessee; and Union Pacific Railroad’s Global III facility in Rochelle, Illinois, and Proviso Third Main (B2) project from Elmhurst to Melrose Park in Illinois for the Chicago Region Environmental and Transportation Efficiency (CREATE) program.

Potts earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering in 1986 from the University of Wyoming and is a licensed professional engineer in Illinois. He is a member of the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association.
