Coalson becomes full-time employee at Hanson

MAITLAND, Fla. — Mathew Coalson recently became a full-time employee at Hanson Professional Services Inc.’s Orlando regional office.

Coalson joined Hanson as an intern in February. As a full-time employee, he will assist with energy audits, commissioning and modeling using Autodesk’s Revit software.

Coalson received an associate degree from Florida SouthWestern State College and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Central Florida, where he was involved in Engineers Without Borders, a student board member of the Foundations for Engineering Education for Distributed Energy Resources (FEEDER) consortium and an intern for the university’s sustainability initiatives. He also was a summer intern at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) in Golden, Colorado, where he performed critical analysis of advanced energy storage techniques and analyzed and presented results to NREL researchers on the state of Florida’s electrical grid, energy generation trends and likely future developments.
