Stapleton joins Hanson as technician and construction observer
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Jordan Stapleton, technician and construction observer, recently joined Hanson Professional Services Inc.’s Springfield headquarters. He will observe and document the construction of the Ash Street underpass in Springfield. As a part of the Springfield Rail Improvements Project, his tasks will include monitoring construction work, measuring quantities and documenting the project’s progress.
Stapleton, who graduated from Southeast High School in 2017, attended the U.S. Naval Academy. He is a student at Lincoln Land Community College and plans to pursue a degree in civil engineering. He has participated in engineering-related activities through the Grow Our Own Minority Participation Program, including the Michigan Technological University’s weeklong Rail and Intermodal Transportation Summer Youth Program in Houghton, Michigan, and the Engineering Open House at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Grow Our Own, implemented by the city of Springfield, Sangamon County and Hanson, aims to foster interest in careers involving science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) by providing mentoring, education and job training opportunities.
