Becker selected as one of ‘Forty Under 40’
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — April Becker, Hanson Professional Services Inc.’s corporate safety manager, has been named to the Springfield Business Journal’s 2019 “Forty Under 40” list.
Since 1997, the monthly publication has recognized young professionals in Springfield and its surrounding communities through the annual Forty Under 40 awards program. Individuals, nominated by readers, are selected based on their contributions to their communities through professional and volunteer efforts. An awards ceremony will be held July 16 in Brookens Auditorium at the University of Illinois Springfield.
Becker, who works at Hanson’s Springfield headquarters, is involved with the firm’s United Way of Central Illinois and Children’s Miracle Network campaign committees. She also participates as a Hanson volunteer for United Way’s Day of Action events. Outside of Hanson, she is active with Girls on the Run of Central Illinois as practice partner and as a member of the 5K planning committee. She also was a member of the 2018 class of the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Springfield and received a community service award for her efforts during the program.
Becker received an associate degree from Lewis and Clark Community College, a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and a master’s degree in library and information science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
