Lyons appointed to Land Surveyors Licensing Board
PEORIA, Ill. — Kim Lyons, PLS, a land surveyor at Hanson Professional Services Inc.’s Peoria office, has been appointed to the Land Surveyors Licensing Board by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
Lyons will serve a five-year term on the board, which comprises five other professional land surveyors and one member of the public. The board determines the eligibility of applicants for professional land surveyor licenses in Illinois, holds disciplinary hearings, evaluates higher-education surveying curricula and makes recommendations regarding rules and regulations to the department.
Lyons, who joined Hanson in 2008, has performed engineering work and surveys for various projects. She earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Bradley University and is a licensed professional land surveyor in Illinois. She is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Illinois Professional Land Surveyors Association.
