Couey earns professional engineer license

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Josh Couey, P.E., an electrical engineer at Hanson Professional Services Inc.’s Springfield headquarters, has earned his professional engineer license in Illinois.

Couey, who joined the firm in 2011, has designed power distribution, lighting, telecommunications, security, fire alarm and smoke detection systems for projects, including the Prairie Capital Convention Center addition and renovation, Lincoln Land Community College Capital City Training Center, Springfield Clinic 1st – 900 Building and Springfield Rail Improvements Project, all in Springfield; Glenwood Elementary School addition in Chatham; and widening and reconstruction of a 22-mile section of Interstate 90 (Jane Addams Memorial Tollway) in Boone, McHenry and Kane counties.

Couey earned a bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering from the Milwaukee School of Engineering.
