Thoele named Young Engineer of the Year by Illinois organization

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Jared Thoele, P.E., S.E., a structural engineer at Hanson Professional Services Inc.’s Springfield headquarters, has been recognized by Illinois Society of Professional Engineers (ISPE) with its Young Engineer of the Year Award.

Earlier this year, Thoele was named Young Engineer of the Year by the ISPE’s Capital Chapter, for which he serves as the past president and as a representative. He joined Hanson in 2011 and provides structural design services, construction observation and bridge inspections for roadway and railroad projects.

Thoele received bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a bachelor’s degree in physics from Illinois College. He is a licensed professional engineer and a licensed structural engineer in Illinois.

The Young Engineer of the Year Award is based on educational and engineering achievements, professional and technical society activities, civic and humanitarian activities and continuing professional competence. Thoele and other ISPE award recipients will be honored at a luncheon July 19 during the organization’s annual conference in Bloomington.
