Hanson’s work on Orlando airport terminal continues in construction phase

Hanson Professional Services Inc. will provide commissioning services for the construction of South Terminal C’s Phase 1 at Orlando International Airport.

The $2.1 billion new terminal complex will include ground transportation, landside and airside facilities; a parking garage expansion; and a central energy plant. The project, which is expected to be completed in 2021, will add at least 16 gates to the airport and help accommodate passenger growth.

Hanson’s services will include maintaining the owner’s project requirements; on-site reviews of the construction of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems; and verifying that systems are ready for testing.

Hanson has previously helped the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority with its expansion of the airport. The firm and its subconsultant, Construction Moisture Consulting Inc., provided commissioning for the new South Airport Automated People Mover Complex and Intermodal Terminal Facility that established the infrastructure for the new terminal. All major building envelope, mechanical (heating, ventilating and air conditioning), plumbing, electrical and life safety systems were commissioned.

Hanson is a national, employee-owned consulting firm providing engineering, planning and allied services. The firm’s corporate headquarters is located at 1525 S. Sixth St., Springfield, IL 62703 and may be reached by phone at (217) 788-2450. The Orlando regional office is located at 720 N.
