Four celebrate 10 years at Hanson’s headquarters
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Four employees at Hanson Professional Services Inc.’s Springfield headquarters recently celebrated 10 years of service.
Steven Brown, P.E., CFM, civil engineer; Joe Doyle, P.E., LEED® AP, mechanical engineer; Timothy Schroeder, business development; and Julie Shipp, P.E., civil engineer, all joined Hanson in 2008.
Brown has been involved in a variety of projects, including hydraulics studies and analyses, site hydrology, hydraulic modeling and the design of storm sewer systems and roadway drainage. He received an associate degree in 2004 from Lincoln Land Community College and a bachelor’s degree in civil and environmental engineering in 2007 from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and is a licensed professional engineer in Illinois and a certified floodplain manager. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE); he received the ASCE Central Illinois Section President Award in 2013 for serving on the board and was named the section’s Young Civil Engineer of the Year in 2017. He also is a member of the Association of State Dam Safety Officials, Illinois Association for Floodplain and Stormwater Management and Illinois Society of Professional Engineers (ISPE), from which he received the 2016 Young Engineer of the Year Award from the Capital Chapter.
Doyle is responsible for the analysis and design of heating, ventilating and air-conditioning (HVAC), energy and plumbing systems for commercial, educational, governmental and military facilities. He received a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering in 2008 from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. He is a licensed professional engineer in Illinois, a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design AP (accredited professional) and a member of ASHRAE.
Schroeder assists and directs efforts to market and promote engineering, building-systems commissioning and energy analysis and design to clients. He has nearly 25 years of experience in sales, marketing and business development. He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics in 1988 from Eastern Illinois University.
Shipp provides geometric layout and intersection design, document preparation and drainage analysis for roadway projects. She also performs precast concrete plant inspections for the National Precast Concrete Association. She earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering in 2007 from Bradley University and is a licensed professional engineer in Illinois. She is a member of ISPE’s Capital Chapter and received its Young Engineer of the Year award in 2015. She also is a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers.
