Three at Hanson’s headquarters mark five years of service

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Three employees at Hanson Professional Services Inc.’s Springfield, Ill., headquarters recently celebrated five years of service.

Steven Brown, P.E., CFM, civil engineer for the infrastructure market; Timothy Schroeder, business development manager for the government and energy market; and Julie Shipp, EIT, engineer intern for the infrastructure market, all joined Hanson in 2008.

Brown has been involved in a variety of projects, including hydraulics studies and analyses; site hydrology; the design of storm sewer systems and roadway drainage; and hydraulic modeling. He is a licensed professional engineer in Illinois and earned his certified floodplain manager (CFM) designation in 2009. He received his bachelor’s degree in civil and environmental engineering in 2007 from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).

Schroeder assists and directs efforts to market and promote engineering, building-systems commissioning and energy analysis and design to clients. He has nearly 20 years of experience in sales, marketing and business development. He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics in 1988 from Eastern Illinois University.

Shipp has been involved with several infrastructure projects, including roadways, streetscapes and sewers. She assisted with traffic-impact studies and public involvement for the Illinois High-Speed Rail Chicago to St. Louis program’s environmental impact statement. She also has been involved in maintenance-of-traffic design for the widening and reconstruction of Interstate 90. She earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering in 2007 from Bradley University. She is a member of the Illinois Society of Professional Engineers (ISPE) and serves as president-elect of ISPE’s Capital Chapter.
