Wilkinson celebrates 15 years at Hanson’s headquarters

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Dennis Wilkinson, P.E., S.E., chief facilities structural engineer, recently celebrated 15 years of service at Hanson Professional Services Inc.’s Springfield headquarters.

Wilkinson joined Hanson in 2000 as an intern, becoming full time in 2001. He has provided structural design services for multi-story buildings, foundations, mechanical equipment screen walls, mezzanines and special supports. He has worked on projects including Union Station’s renovation, upgrades in the south and west wings of the Illinois State Capitol, Memorial Health System’s recently completed Center for Learning and Innovation, Springfield Clinic’s new North First facility, the Illinois Air National Guard 183rd Fighter Wing composite support facility, University Hall at University of Illinois Springfield and Simmons Cancer Institute at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, all in Springfield; the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory Next Linear Collider in Batavia; and St. Louis Downtown Airport’s aircraft rescue and firefighting station in Cahokia.

He received an associate degree in pre-engineering in 1999 from Springfield College and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering in 2002 from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is a licensed structural engineer in Illinois, Arizona and Utah, a licensed professional engineer in Illinois and a member of the Illinois Society of Professional Engineers and the Society of American Military Engineers.
