Thoele earns structural engineer license

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Jared Thoele, P.E., S.E., a civil engineer at Hanson Professional Services Inc.’s Springfield headquarters, recently earned his structural engineer license in Illinois.

Thoele, who joined the company in 2011, provides structural design services, construction observation and bridge inspections for roadway and railroad projects. He is a design engineer for the Springfield Rail Improvements Program, a bridge over Union Pacific Railroad tracks on Iron Bridge Road in Springfield and the construction of a tied-arch bridge over the Illinois River at Meredosia. He also has provided structural engineering services for highway bridges over the Illinois Tollway’s Interstate 90 (Jane Addams Memorial Tollway) in Boone County and for the Glenn Highway capacity improvements project in Eagle River, Alaska.

He received bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a bachelor’s degree in physics from Illinois College. Thoele, who also is a licensed professional engineer in Illinois, is a member of the Illinois Society of Professional Engineers and president-elect of its Capital Chapter.
