Slager celebrates five years with Hanson

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Matthew Slager, P.E., CGD, LEED AP®, the chief mechanical engineer at Hanson Professional Services Inc., recently celebrated five years of service at the company’s headquarters in Springfield, Ill.

Prior to joining Hanson in 2010, Slager was a mechanical engineer at an engineering consulting firm in Rock Island, Ill. As the chief mechanical engineer at Hanson, he leads the firm’s group of mechanical engineers and designers on technical issues. He also provides mechanical engineering design for a variety of projects for government, education, commercial and health-care facilities and data centers, including a geothermal energy project at Camp Lincoln, the Illinois Army National Guard’s headquarters in Springfield; a geothermal variable refrigerant flow system for Glenwood Elementary School in Chatham, Ill.; and multiple projects for the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC).

He received a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering in 2004 from UIUC. He is a licensed professional engineer in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa and New York. He also is a Certified GeoExchange Designer (CGD) and a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design accredited professional (LEED AP). Slager is a member of ASHRAE and a board member of the Geothermal Alliance of Illinois.
