Shawn Goetz celebrates 20 years with Hanson
ST. LOUIS PARK, Minn. — Shawn Goetz, P.E., S.E., senior associate and project manager at Hanson Professional Services Inc.’s Twin Cities metropolitan office, recently celebrated 20 years of service with the firm.
Goetz joined the company in 1994. Prior to joining Hanson, he was a technician for the Illinois Department of Transportation’s District 4 in Peoria, Ill. He began his career at Hanson as a civil engineer at the firm’s Rockford, Ill., office, and later transferred to the Kansas City metropolitan office, where he served as a project manager and as operations lead for the firm’s railway market. Goetz relocated to the Twin Cities office when it opened in 2014; from there, he provides engineering services, project management and oversight, primarily for railway and transportation projects, and leads Hanson’s marketing and business development efforts in the region.
His work at Hanson has included providing design services, inspections, plan and document preparation, construction observation and management for numerous bridge, structural and railway projects in Illinois and across the U.S.
Goetz received a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering in 1994 from Bradley University and a Master of Business Administration in strategic management in 2012 from the University of Kansas. He is a licensed professional engineer in several states, including Minnesota, and a licensed structural engineer in Illinois. He is a member of the American Council of Engineering Companies and the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association, for which he serves as the secretary of Committee 8: Concrete Structures and Foundations.
