Safranski celebrates 10 years at Hanson’s headquarters

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Elizabeth Safranski, a traffic modeler at Hanson Professional Services Inc.’s Springfield headquarters, recently celebrated 10 years of service with the firm.

Safranski joined the company in 2006. She has prepared traffic and travel-demand models for transportation projects, including an environmental impact statement for high-speed rail, the Capitol Avenue streetscape design and beautification and the upcoming Stanford Avenue extension, all in Springfield; improvements to Washington Street in Peoria; a roundabout at Main and Auburn streets in Rockford, which was the first dual-lane roundabout in that city and on a state highway in Illinois; and the Interstate 74 Mississippi River bridge replacement from Moline to Bettendorf, Iowa. She also created a regional travel-demand model for the Tri-County Regional Planning Commission, which comprises Peoria, Tazewell and Woodford counties.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Millikin University.
