McGowan receives Building Energy Modeling Professional certification

ORLANDO, Fla. — Hanson Professional Services Inc.’s David McGowan, P.E., LEED AP® BD+C, BEMP, a mechanical engineer, recently received ASHRAE’s Building Energy Modeling Professional certification. According to ASHRAE, this program certifies an individual’s ability to evaluate, choose, use, calibrate and interpret the results of energy modeling software when applied to a building system’s energy performance and economics.

Joining Hanson in 2006, McGowan specializes in designing energy efficient HVAC and plumbing systems for commercial, governmental and industrial facilities, contributing to project work for clients including the U.S. General Services Administration, University of South Florida, Palm Beach County Airport, and Florida Department of Health.  He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Utah.
