Hanson’s Loos receives award for outstanding engineer
PEORIA, Ill. — Hanson Professional Services Inc.’s Cindy Loos, P.E., regional vice president, recently received the 2012 Outstanding Engineer Award from the Central Illinois Section of the Society of Women Engineers.
The society is a nonprofit educational and service organization that was founded in 1950. The award is given to a woman who has made significant contributions in engineering and/or technical management.
Loos is past president of the Women’s Transportation Society’s Central Illinois Chapter and chairwoman of the Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce’s Transportation Committee. She also was a member of Bradley University’s College of Engineering and Technology Executive Advisory Council and was elected to the Princeville Community Unit School District #326 Board of Education, serving through 2013.
Loos has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Eastern Illinois University and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Bradley.
