Hanson’s Lisa Waters named to Florida Department of Transportation advisory group
SARASOTA, Fla. — Lisa Waters, a senior aviation planner at Hanson Professional Services Inc., recently was named to a Florida Department of Transportation advisory working group tasked with drafting an amendment to Florida Statutes regarding airport protection zoning. The advisory group – consisting of airport, military, development, real estate, and local government representatives – will review the existing statutory provision, review and propose draft language, and provide feedback on the proposed amendment to Chapter 333, Florida Statutes. The group’s recommendations will be provided to the Florida legislature for its consideration and action.
Waters has nearly 30 years in the aviation industry, and she specializes in airport environmental and master planning; airport and aviation noise studies; and airport noise abatement and mitigation program development and implementation. Serving in both the private- and public-sectors, her experience includes managing and conducting airport and aviation master plans and noise/land use compatibility studies involving extensive community participation, detailed technical analysis and implementation programs.
Waters has a bachelor’s degree in aviation management from the Florida Institute of Technology. She is a past presenter at the Airport Noise and Land Use Compatibility Symposium and at the Institute of Transportation Studies at the University of California Berkeley. She also has served on the planning committee for the Florida Airports Council’s Specialty Environmental and Noise Conference.
