Knoedler becomes president of Energy Management Association’s board
RALEIGH, N.C. — Robert Knoedler, P.E., EMP, CxA, a vice president and principal of commissioning and energy-related services at Hanson Professional Services Inc., has been elected president of the Energy Management Association’s (EMA) board of directors.
Knoedler, who works at Hanson’s office in Raleigh, and other board members were selected April 27 during CxEnergy, an annual conference sponsored by the AABC Commissioning Group (ACG) and EMA.
The EMA is focused on advancing the quality of energy management products and services to benefit building owners. Knoedler has been a member of the EMA since its founding in 2014, and most recently was a member of the committee revising the examination for its Energy Management Professional (EMP) certification.
Knoedler has provided commissioning and energy-related services for public- and private-sector clients for various buildings and facilities. He received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering, both from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He holds an EMP certification and is a licensed professional engineer in several states, including North Carolina, and a Certified Commissioning Authority (CxA). He is past president of the Southeast Region Chapter of the Building Commissioning Association and a member of ACG, Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association’s Atlanta Chapter, ASHRAE, Haywood County Health and Human Services Agency Board, National Society of Professional Engineers and the University of Illinois Foundation.
