Kertz celebrates 20 years of service at Hanson
CHICAGO — William Kertz, P.E., senior civil/railroad engineer, recently celebrated 20 years of service at Hanson Professional Services Inc.’s Chicago regional office.
Kertz joined Hanson in 1993 and serves the company’s railway market. His responsibilities include evaluating major transportation projects, estimating costs and providing on-site construction services. He has been involved with multiple projects for BNSF Railway Co.
Kertz has more than 35 years of experience in the railroad industry. Prior to joining Hanson, Kertz worked for several railroad contractors and the former Milwaukee Road. He earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering in 1977 from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is a licensed professional engineer in Arizona, Illinois and Texas. He is a member of the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association (AREMA) and the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).
