Harms named to NCEES Education Task Force
 
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — John Harms, P.E., S.E., senior vice president at Hanson Professional Services Inc., recently was named to the National Council of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors’ (NCEES) Education Task Force.

NCEES develops, administers and scores examinations used for engineering and surveying licensure in the U.S.  The Education Task Force consists of NCEES board members and resource members from various professional engineering societies and organizations.  As a member of the task force, Harms will help NCEES address additional educational requirements needed for initial professional engineering licensure.

Previously, Harms has served on four NCEES committees.  He is a member and former chairman of the Illinois Structural Engineering Board, and he has served as a visiting lecturer on bridge planning and design at the University of Illinois and the University of Kentucky.  Harms holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Purdue University (1969).
