Hanson’s Freitag and Harms recognized as Patriotic Employers

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Joan Freitag, F.SAME, senior vice president and principal of Department of Defense services, and John Harms, P.E., S.E., senior vice president and project manager, recently were named Patriotic Employers by the U.S. Department of Defense and the National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR).  Each individual was cited for contributing to national security and protecting liberty and freedom by supporting employee participation in America’s National Guard and Reserve Force.

Major Craig Holan, AICP, a project manager with Hanson, nominated Freitag and Harms. Holan serves in the Headquarters and Headquarters Company (HHC), 766th Engineer Battalion Illinois National Guard. In 2008-2009, he served a 12-month deployment to assist with Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.

“Joan Freitag and John Harms have been very supportive of the Guard and Reserves. Not only have they accommodated my guard responsibilities, they have always gone above and beyond in their support of military servicemen and women in general.  Both have a sense of civic pride as they support my service and others serving in the Guard and Reserve,” says Holan.
