Hanson provides update for its support of the military
Hanson has a long history of supporting the men and women serving in the U.S. Military, including the company’s participation in the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR). This level of active support starts with the president and CEO Sergio “Satch” Pecori – whose son has served three tours in Iraq – and continues at all levels throughout the organization.
Hanson provides support for employees serving in the military
For employed service members, policies for pay, benefits and leave are generous and include differential pay both during annual training periods and mobilization; continued insurance coverage; and company contributions to the stock bonus program. The company also makes regular contact with the service member’s family, sends care packages, and provides emotional support during deployment. Since 2001, Hanson even has extended this support to employees’ relatives through annual care package drives.
Corporate policies, training and recognition reflect the firm’s commitment
Hanson’s human resources department conducts USERRA training, participates in U.S. Military job fairs, and hires numerous veterans for various office locations. Hanson recognizes the specific service of employees through its newsletter and news releases, as well as through local recognition opportunities. One recognition opportunity is the American Red Cross’ Heroes Breakfast, of which Hanson is the official business sponsor for the event’s military hero award.
Additionally, Hanson encourages and supports employee support of the military, providing both time and resources. Hanson recently provided pro-bono engineering assistance to an engineering unit serving in Iraq for bridge analysis and design. Hanson also sent representatives to the Adjutant General’s State-of-State visit to Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C.
