SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Michael Barham, a resident project representative, recently celebrated 30 years of service at Hanson Professional Services Inc.’s corporate headquarters in Springfield, Ill. His experience includes providing support services for bridge, highway, railway and public utility projects as well as numerous airports throughout Illinois.

His career highlights include serving as project technician for a railroad system planning study in Springfield, Ill., in the 1980s to consider various alternatives for solutions to the many conflicts between rail operations and traffic, producing a final railroad relocation plan.  He also assisted with many improvements at the Quincy Regional Airport in Quincy, Ill., including a 479-foot-long runway extension, a new access road, and improvements to the runway safety area such as upgrading the edge lighting system, installing runway-end identifier lights, and improving drainage.  Most recently, he assisted with BNSF Railway Co.’s Memphis Intermodal Facility in Memphis, Tenn., providing construction observation for the 200-acre facility.
