Austin celebrates 30 years of service at Hanson
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Jimmie Austin Jr., technician, recently celebrated 30 years of service at Hanson Professional Services Inc.’s Springfield, Ill., headquarters.
Austin joined the company in 1983. Serving the infrastructure market, his responsibilities include computer-aided drafting and design (CADD) and surveying for civil, transportation and site-development projects. He also leads the organization of the public-involvement program for Springfield’s rail improvements project and is involved in communicating with the public about the project. He has worked on a variety of projects, including a railroad relocation and the MacArthur Boulevard expansion, both in Springfield.
Austin has been an Illinois Department of Transportation approved fee negotiator since 2009. He is a founding member of Young Springfield Professionals Network. He also is a graduate of the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Springfield.
