Conlan joins Hanson as mechanical, commissioning and energy engineer
MAITLAND, Fla. — Wade Conlan, P.E., CxA, CPMP, LEED AP® BD+C, mechanical, commissioning and energy engineer, recently joined Hanson Professional Services Inc.’s Orlando regional office. He will focus on optimizing building system performance and reducing energy consumption in buildings through commissioning, retro-commissioning, recommissioning, monitoring-based commissioning and energy audits of facilities. In addition, he will be involved with fault-detection diagnostics regarding energy management.
Before joining Hanson, Conlan was a principal for an international engineering consulting firm in Maitland, for which he served as a liaison and provided project management for commissioning and energy clients worldwide; the director of engineering for an internationally recognized laboratory design firm; and a mechanical designer for an engineering firm in Atlanta.
Conlan received a bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering from Pennsylvania State University. He is a licensed professional engineer in Florida and Georgia, Certified Commissioning Authority, Commissioning Process Management Professional and a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design accredited professional with a Building Design + Construction (LEED® AP BD+C) specialty through the U.S. Green Building Council.
He is a member of ASHRAE, is chair of its Standard 110: Method of Testing Performance of Laboratory Fume Hoods committee, member of the Environmental Health Committee and serves on the Central Florida Chapter’s board of governors. He is vice-chair of the Industrial Advisory Board for the University of Central Florida’s Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department. He received the Distinguished Service Award, Technology Award, Milton W. Garland Commemorative Refrigeration Award for Project Excellence, Regional Award of Merit and Chapter Service Award from ASHRAE and the Young Engineer of the Year and Technical Engineer of the Year awards from ASHRAE’s Central Florida Chapter. He also was named one of Consulting-Specifying Engineer magazine’s 40 Under 40 in 2011.
