Hanselman earns professional engineer license

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Mark Hanselman, P.E., LEED® AP, a civil engineer at Hanson Professional Services Inc., recently earned his professional engineer license in Illinois. He serves Hanson’s government market in the company’s Springfield, Ill., office. 

Hanselman joined Hanson in 2008. He has been involved in a variety of local structural engineering projects, including the Springfield YMCA’s Kerasotes Branch and Memorial SportsCare facility; CWLP Spaulding Dam spillway gate replacement; and the Illinois Capitol Building.  He also has conducted precast-concrete plant inspections nationwide as part of Hanson’s contract with the National Precast Concrete Association.

He has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering/transportation from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and a master’s degree in civil engineering/structures from the University of Michigan. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), and he participated in ASCE’s 2007 Structures Congress in Long Beach, Calif., authoring “Long-Term Investigation of Live Loads on Illinois Bridges.”
