Five employees celebrate 15 years with Hanson
MARYLAND HEIGHTS, Mo. — Five employees recently celebrated 15 years of service with Hanson Professional Services Inc.’s St. Louis regional office. They joined the firm in 2000.
Mary Cole, senior technician, provides computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) and civil design and development services. Her experience includes multiple roadway projects for the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT); water-line relocations and pump stations for the Public Water Supply District 2 of St. Charles County in Missouri; the reconstruction of the Interstate 74 bridge over the Mississippi River from Moline, Ill., to Bettendorf, Iowa; the widening and reconstruction of a 22-mile section of Interstate 90 (Jane Addams Memorial Tollway) in Illinois’ Boone, Kane and McHenry counties; and a number of U.S. Army and Air National Guard projects. She earned an associate degree in applied engineering in 1980 from St. Louis Community College – Florissant Valley.
Brad Cunningham, P.E., structural engineer, was a project engineer for an engineering firm in St. Louis and an intern for the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) in Springfield, Ill., before joining Hanson. He designs and develops construction plans for bridges and conducts bridge inspections. He has worked on multiple projects as a structural and bridge engineer for MoDOT, IDOT, Public Water Supply District No. 2 and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ St. Louis District. He also has conducted precast-concrete plant inspections nationwide as part of Hanson’s contract with the National Precast Concrete Association. He received a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering in 1998 from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. He is a licensed professional engineer in Illinois and Missouri and a member of the Engineers’ Club of St. Louis.
Debra Kropp, proposal coordinator, has been with Hanson since 2000. She develops and prepares business proposals, statements of qualifications and presentations for transportation and local government clients. She has contributed to the procurement of many significant projects for Hanson. She received an associate degree in business administration in 1978 from St. Louis Community College – Florissant Valley and a bachelor’s degree in business administration/marketing in 1980 from the University of Missouri.
Jimmie Kuehnel, GIS specialist, designs cross-sections; contour, topographic, hydrographic and navigational maps; and survey plats. He has provided CADD and geographic information system (GIS) skills on projects for MoDOT, IDOT, the Illinois Army National Guard and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ St. Louis District. He earned an associate degree in drafting/CADD technology in 1993 from Lewis and Clark Community College. He is a member of the St. Louis GIS Users Group.
Rod Sachtleben, P.E., S.E., regional vice president, supervises the staff at the St. Louis regional office and has provided services as a structural engineer, project manager and principal-in-charge for numerous projects for MoDOT, IDOT and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ St. Louis District. He received a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering in 1981 from the University of Missouri. He is a licensed professional engineer in Illinois and Missouri and a licensed structural engineer in Illinois. He is a member of the American Council of Engineering Companies and the Engineers’ Club of St. Louis.
