Fischer becomes certified professional wetland scientist
INDIANAPOLIS — Payton Fischer, PWS, an environmental scientist at Hanson Professional Services Inc.’s Indianapolis office, recently earned her professional wetland scientist certification.
The certification is issued by the Society of Wetland Scientists to individuals with academic and work experience that meet the standards expected of a wetland professional. It is the only certification program for wetland scientists.
Fischer, who joined the company in 2020, conducts environmental surveying and assessments; produces project reports, documents and presentations; prepares hydrologic and landscape data for analysis; creates maps; and prepares environmental permit applications. She received a bachelor’s degree in biology from St. Joseph’s College and a master’s degree in geographic information science from Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis.
