Thompson named Distinguished Engineer of the Year

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Craig Thompson, P.E., the civil sitework discipline manager at Hanson Professional Services Inc., has been named the Distinguished Engineer of the Year by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Corpus Christi Branch.

Thompson, who works at Hanson’s Corpus Christi office, is a member of ASCE. The award recognizes the outstanding achievements of an engineer during their career. All Corpus Christi Branch award recipients were honored Feb. 22 during its Annual Joint Meeting and Awards Banquet in Corpus Christi.

Thompson joined Hanson in 2016, when Naismith Engineering Inc. was acquired by the firm. He has completed numerous engineering projects in site development, utilities, stormwater management, transportation and municipal engineering. As Hanson’s civil sitework discipline manager, he oversees the technical and production staff for civil sitework. He received a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Texas A&M University and is a licensed professional engineer in Texas. He also is a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers.
