Robert Waller

As a vice president at Hanson, Rob Waller leads the company’s land development practice, which includes aviation design and planning, civil sitework, water/wastewater and land acquisition, along with project delivery.

Prior to joining Hanson in 1998, Rob served in the U.S. Navy. He started at Hanson as a designer within the transportation division, where he performed highway location studies and roadway design. Two years into his career, he transitioned to the aviation sector, initially as an aviation civil designer, later as a senior project manager and professional engineer, and ultimately as Hanson’s land development practice lead and the company’s aviation market’s first operations lead. In this role, he assisted in monitoring key performance indicators, collaborated with project managers and administrators, assisted with contract and project administration and served Hanson’s airport clients.

IN ROB’S WORDS
“A gratifying part of what we do technically is to take an expressed client need and transform that input into a graphical depiction and ultimately a physical solution. As a leader, though, observing and experiencing the camaraderie of the staff and my peers truly reflects our success.”

Rob’s decades of technical civil engineering experience span a variety of airfield and site designs, from pavements, drainage, utilities and navigational aids to building projects such as terminals, hangars, aviation rescue and firefighting stations and snow removal equipment storage and maintenance facilities. Each of these specialties encompass conceptual planning, programming, design, construction observation and construction contract administration project phases. Originating with his time as a project manager acquiring property for airspace, safety and development purposes, land acquisition rounds out Rob’s knowledge and skillset, and he leads Hanson’s team of professional negotiators, relocation specialists and property appraisers.
