Matt Schrader

With more than three decades of experience in geospatial technologies, surveying and project management, Matt Schrader, PLS, serves as a vice president and as Hanson’s national geospatial technical leader and survey technical discipline group chief. Working closely with Hanson’s federal services market, Matt guides technical teams and leads complex, multimillion-dollar national geospatial projects and programs for clients such as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Air Force and National Guard Bureau.

A technical innovator, Matt has implemented procedures and processes to combine datasets from multiple sources, creating comprehensive geospatial products that serve multiple end users and clients. He has managed and created data standards for more than 450 U.S. Department of Defense installations.

Matt began his career with Hanson in 1992 as an engineering technician and surveyor at the firm’s offices in Springfield, Illinois, and Kansas City, Missouri, where he contributed to site development, roadway and railroad projects. After gaining valuable experience as a field engineer for a contractor in Highland, Illinois, and as a vice president and discipline leader for a national design, geospatial and infrastructure management firm in Fairview Heights, Illinois, Matt returned to Hanson in 2015.

Dedicated to his profession, Matt is a member of the Illinois Professional Land Surveyors Association, Illinois GIS Association, Missouri Society of Professional Surveyors and the Society of American Military Engineers. Matt earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering technology from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. He is a licensed professional land surveyor in Illinois, Missouri, Kansas and Kentucky.
