With a background in civil engineering, Lee serves as Hanson’s water and wastewater discipline manager, specializing in the design of critical infrastructure, including water distribution extensions, water and wastewater treatment, sanitary lift stations, water booster pump stations, stormwater treatment and detention systems, elevated tanks and stormwater collection systems.

Since joining Hanson in 2006, Lee has brought extensive experience in project management, quality control and all phases of engineering projects, from design to construction. He assists clients in identifying funding sources and has worked on a wide range of projects, including sanitary sewers, water mains, raw water pump stations and water and wastewater treatment plants. He is also well-versed in Illinois Environmental Protection Agency and Missouri Department of Natural Resources state revolving fund loan administration, Texas Water Development Board loan applications and grant funding.

Lee was recognized as the 2020 Engineer of the Year by the Capital Chapter of the Illinois Society of Professional Engineers, which also named him its Young Engineer of the Year in 2009. He was selected to serve on the Illinois Municipal League’s Public Works Committee and has shared insights and best practices to advance the industry, speaking at conferences hosted by the Illinois Municipal League and the Illinois Society of Professional Engineers. He also is a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers, the American Council of Engineering Companies of Illinois, the American Water Works Association and the Illinois Municipal League.
