Howard Gotschall

Howard is a vice president and the bridges discipline manager at Hanson, leading the management and business development efforts at the St. Louis area office, as well as the management of Hanson’s bridge group nationally.

Since joining Hanson in 1999, Howard has provided structural engineering services for a wide range of high-profile roadway and rail bridge projects from Florida to Alaska. His project portfolio includes numerous bridges for the Illinois and Missouri departments of transportation; new flyover ramps for the Palmetto Expressway and Okeechobee Road interchange in Miami; the Paducah and Louisville Railroad relocation for the Kentucky Dam lock addition; and the Alaska Railroad Corp.’s northern extension, which features the Tanana River bridge in Salcha, Alaska. His contributions also extend to building projects, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers flood protection initiatives and foundation designs for electrical transmission line river crossings.

Dedicated to his community and the engineering industry, Howard is on the American Council of Engineering Companies of Missouri’s board of directors, as well as multiple committees, including transportation and governmental affairs. He’s an active member of the Structural Engineering Exam Development Committee for the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying.
