As Hanson’s traffic discipline manager, Gerry serves the infrastructure market through traffic analysis and the design of safety improvements, traffic signals, illumination, intelligent transportation systems, traffic control plans, maintenance-of-traffic, signing, pavement markings and pedestrian facilities.

Gerry joined Hanson’s Austin, Texas, office in 2022 after serving as a transportation engineer for the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) in Laredo. His experience encompasses general civil engineering design, including roadway and transportation operations.

Gerry has had key involvement in complex projects, including designing signal improvements for vehicles, pedestrians, mid-block crossings, bikes and buses in more than 30 locations as part of a $10 million project for the city of Indianapolis, as well as designing more than 5 miles of concrete raised median for a $3.5 million project with TxDOT that spanned six locations across three counties. He has also partnered with the Union Pacific Railroad, the Norfolk Southern Railway Co., the Virginia Department of Transportation, the Springfield (Illinois) Airport Authority, the Missouri Department of Transportation, the Indiana Department of Transportation, the Illinois Department of Transportation, the city of Corpus Christi and other municipalities to deliver extensive rail, road and airport traffic solutions.
