As Hanson’s senior vice president of aviation, Charles “Chip” Snowden, AAE, CFM, has served the aviation industry for more than 40 years, working on both the airport management and consulting sides of the business.
Chip’s vast experience in aviation and in-depth understanding of future innovations give him the unique ability to help airports look ahead and plan for the technology on the horizon. Prior to joining Hanson in 2015 as the aviation market principal, he was the vice president of aviation emerging practices for a global engineering firm in Jacksonville, Florida; chief operating officer for the Jacksonville Aviation Authority; planning and development manager for the Palm Beach County Department of Airports in West Palm Beach, Florida; and airport planner for a national infrastructure-services firm in Miami.
In addition to Chip’s strong management capabilities, he has extensive experience in business development, strategic direction and management and project delivery for aviation program emerging practices, including public and private partnership transactional services, economic development programs, airport operations and maintenance staffing services, airport asset management programs and airport program management. He works with airport operators and developers, infrastructure funds and governmental entities to help them win and execute major airport privatization programs. Chip’s consulting experience also includes working with domestic and international airport owners in developing airport business plans, management best practices, security programs and “airport cities” property development programs.
Chip frequently offers insights to nationwide aviation events about advanced air mobility and the electric vehicle industry. He is an active member of Airports Council International, the American Association of Airport Executives, the Florida Airports Council, the Florida Chamber of Commerce, the Florida Safe Airports Council and the International Facility Management Association.
