Petkevicius celebrates 25 years at Hanson

LISLE, Ill. — Amber Petkevicius, P.E., an assistant vice president and a senior transportation engineer at Hanson Professional Services Inc.’s Chicago metro office, recently celebrated 25 years of service with the firm.

Petkevicius, who joined the company in 2001, specializes in the design and construction of highways, tollways, local roads, interchanges and complex infrastructure projects. Her experience includes intersection and interchange design studies, traffic impact analysis, specifications, cost estimates and developing and coordinating contract plans for large highway projects. She has worked on projects including the widening and reconstruction of a 22-mile section of Interstate 90 (Jane Addams Memorial Tollway) in Boone, McHenry and Kane counties; reconstruction of the I-90 and Interstate 39 interchange in Cherry Valley; reconstruction of Interstate 74 through Moline, associated with the Mississippi River bridge replacement in Moline and Bettendorf, Iowa; and reconstruction and widening of a 3.6-mile section of the South Tri-State Tollway in Cook County, which involved the design of the Halsted Street interchange. She is the project manager for the final design of the Interstate 80 bridge over the Mississippi River from LeClaire, Iowa, to East Moline and its adjacent highway interchanges.

Petkevicius earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering in 2001 from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and is a licensed professional engineer in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa and North Carolina.
