Owen joins Hanson as chief civil works engineer
Jacob Owen, P.E., PMP, chief civil works engineer, recently joined Hanson Professional Services Inc. Working from northwest Missouri, he will focus on providing consulting engineering for dams and levees for federal, state, municipal and private owners and utilities.
Owen worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for more than 20 years, most recently as chief of the Kansas City District’s Geotechnical Branch in Kansas City, Missouri. He received the Bronze de Fleury medal from the Engineer Regiment and the Department of the Army Civilian Service Achievement Medal.
Owen earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering from the University of Missouri; in 2016, he was inducted into the university’s Civil Engineering Academy of Distinguished Alumni. He is a licensed professional engineer in Missouri, a certified project management professional and a member of the United States Society on Dams.
